It’s finally Spring, and that means it’s time to think about your springtime destinations. One such place is the Stratton Mountain Resort, located in the Southwest corner of Vermont. Known as the birthplace of snowboarding, as well as its 99 trails with some stretching as far as 3 miles long, there’s plenty to see and do whether you are skiing, snowboarding, or simply enjoying the winter-wonderland fun. While our nearest Sun & Ski Sports locations are in Plainview, New York, and North Conway, New Hampshire, plenty of our customers head out to enjoy Stratton Mountain Resort’s fresh snow and amenities. We asked our stores to give us the inside scoop so that you too can experience the wonder that is Stratton Mountain Resort to the fullest.
How’s the Snow at Stratton Mountain Resort?
One of the great features of Stratton Mountain Resort is its grooming and terrain for all ages. With 11 lifts and 99 trails on 670 acres to choose from, there is a trail for every skier and snowboarder. The 99 trails are broken up to 40 novice trails, 31 intermediate, 17 advanced, and 11 expert trails. Stratton Mountain Resort even has an interactive map that shows you available runs and lifts.
What Additional Preparations Can You Take When Visiting?
As we enjoy the outdoors, there are still some restrictions in place to help you and your group stay healthy and adventurous. This includes masks, sanitization stations, and potentially longer lines for lifts. You can see all of Stratton Mountain Resort’s policies on their website. However, our store in North Conway recommends setting up your vehicle as a base lodge. When you need a break from shredding powder, come back to your vehicle to have lunch, relax, and recharge before heading back out. That way, you avoid any potential lines or any hassle at the local eateries at the resort.
What is the Most Instagram-Worthy Location on Stratton Mountain?
If it’s not on Instagram, did it even happen? While at Stratton Mountain Resort, you may be searching for some of the most Instagram-worthy locations to get that picture in. According to our stores, the Sundown Bowl is where it’s at. Take in the views surrounding the mountain as well as experiencing multiple fun runs to boot. While you’re looking through your feed, be sure to follow Sun & Ski Sports on Instagram.
What Other Activities Are There?
For those who aren’t into skiing or snowboarding, there are plenty of other activities to make use of the winter wonderland at the Stratton Mountain Resort. There’s tubing at the Coca-Cola Tube Park, Ice Skating at the Mill House, Snowmobile Tours, Shopping, and more. With any activity, be sure to call ahead to check on availability. Our stores recommend finding a jacuzzi tub at the end of the day to unwind and relax.
What is the Best Run on Stratton Mountain?
If you had time for one last run at Stratton Mountain, what would it be? Our stores highly recommend the Sunriser Supertrail. It’s a wide-open trail with various islands of trees in the middle. However, the large and wide areas are perfect for doing large s-turns, drawing out an already long and fun run. It also passes by the Sunbowl area for that Instagram pic you want.
