Houston – Jan. 6, 2010… Homeless shelters like Star of Hope are filled to capacity and sleeping an additional 50 to 90 people on floor mats at their Women and Family Emergency Shelter. They try to accommodate everyone and give them the safety and protection of being indoors.

Sun & Ski Sports is lending a helping hand by donating 369 pieces of new clothing to assist in keeping these people warm during this arctic blast. Pieces of clothing include insulated ski pants, bibs and jackets.

During the Thanksgiving season, Sun & Ski Sports organizes “Share Your Warmth,” a winter clothing drive that collects new or gently used coats, jackets, sweaters, hats and gloves at their five Houston-area locations. The warm clothing is donated to the Star of Hope. Last year, four and half tons of warm clothing was donated.

Sun & Ski Sports understands the importance of staying warm and wants to support the Star of Hope with this additional donation to comfort the homeless during these below freezing temperatures.

Sun & Ski Sports, the “guide to the great outside,” outfits enthusiasts who ski, run, hike and bike around the world.
